Rainbow Family Christian Academy utilizes proven curriculums to educate our students. We use the rigorous A Beka Curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. We have chosen A Beka because it lays a strong foundation for phonics and reading. We transition to BJU Press (Bob Jones University) for 2nd-5th Grade Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Health. We supplement our curriculum with other resources and activities to make sure our students receive a well rounded and diverse education.
We intentionally use Christian curriculum for our Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science Curriculums to ensure they are taught from a Biblical World View. Many of the stories for reading incorporate Christian values, instilling character and integrity. Some of our Math and Spelling curriculum is secular, but we ensure it does not include inappropriate content.
Students in our K-6th grade program also participate in Specials (Spanish, Music, and Art). Spanish is taught virtually with Homeschool Spanish Academy twice per week. Music is taught with our Music teacher twice per week as well. In Music class students learn music theory and how to play the recorder. Music students participate in a concert at the end of the school year.
With our small classroom environment, RFCA students receive an individualized education tailored to meet their needs. Combined with the oversight and facilitation of RFCA's teachers, our students receive academic and spiritual training that is both invaluable and indelible.

Pre-K4
Our Pre-K4 Sibling Group uses the A Beka curriculum, which emphasizes phonics, numbers, and handwriting. Pre-K4 students learn to identify upper and lower case letters, the sound each letter makes, vowels, short vowel and long vowel sounds, reading blends, and then how to read CVC words (cat, dog, etc.). They also learn to count up to 50, identify numbers up to 20, and write their name and other letters of the alphabet. By the end of the year they are reading short books from the A Beka curriculum. This gives them a strong foundation to begin Kindergarten.

MORE ABOUT A BEKA
"Excellence in Education from a Christian Perspective."
What does “Christian curriculum” mean? Some curriculums incorporate faith and doctrine, but neglect academics.
Some include challenging academics, but neglect faith; the materials are mainly secular, with a few verses sprinkled in.
With Abeka, you can count on high academics AND a biblical worldview so your students aren’t left half prepared to make a difference in the world. Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and you’ll find Scripture and biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrate concepts.
