Rainbow Family Christian Academy utilizes proven curriculums to educate our students. We use the rigorous A Beka Curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. We have chosen A Beka because it lays a strong foundation for phonics and reading. We use A Beka for Math from Pre-K through 4th Grade and BJU Math from 5th-8th Grade. We transition to BJU Press (Bob Jones University) for 2nd-8th Grade Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Health. We supplement our curriculum with other resources and activities to make sure our students receive a well rounded and diverse education. We teach cursive from 2nd-4th Grade. We utilize the All About Spelling Curriculum to teach Spelling strategies from 2nd-4th Grade.
We intentionally use Christian curriculum for our Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science Curriculums to ensure they are taught from a Biblical World View. Many of the stories for reading incorporate Christian values, instilling character and integrity.
Students in our K-8th grade program also participate in Specials (Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy, Music, Art, and Gym). Each special is taught once per week. Computer Literacy is taught in the fall semester and Financial Literacy is taught in the spring once per week. In Music class students learn music theory and how to play the recorder. At the end of the school year, they perform in a concert. In Gym, students are learning stretching, exercises, and physical fitness.
With our small classroom environment, RFCA students receive an individualized education tailored to meet their needs. Combined with the oversight and facilitation of RFCA's teachers, our students receive academic and spiritual training that is both invaluable and indelible.

Pre-K4 students learn to identify upper and lower case letters, the sound each letter makes, vowels, short vowel and long vowel sounds, reading blends, and then how to read CVC words (cat, dog, etc.). They also learn to count up to 50, identify numbers up to 20, and write their name and other letters of the alphabet. By the end of the year they are reading short books from the A Beka curriculum. This gives them a strong foundation to begin Kindergarten.

For math and reading we continue using A Beka. All About Spelling is used to teach spelling in a multi-sensory way, helping students retain information. Science and Social Studies are taught with engaging lessons from BJU Press.

Middle Schoolers also have study hall each day so that they can have time to work with teachers on challenging concepts. 5th-8th Graders are also challenged to complete various projects throughout the year, such as lead a chapel service, complete a Science Fair Project, and create a small business which is showcased at our Pop-Up-Shop Event. These projects allow them to be creative, develop leadership skills, and apply what they learn in the classroom.
